The Du Laboratory at West Virginia University Health Sciences Center is interested in revealing the unique metabolic network within retina, with a focus on understanding how metabolic dysregulation contributes to retinal degenerative diseases including age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, and diabetic retinopathy. The goal of this research is to develop novel treatments to fight blindness based on our findings.
